This is my sister, Ate Ning-ning. She passed away exactly 16 years ago. She was 14.

My mom hasn’t been feeling so well these days. Then today she told me, every year she feels sick when mid-September comes. The feeling of losing her daughter never went away.

When a Sister says goodbye,

To her dearest Brother,

When Mother’s cry,

And a nation mourns,

No wound received in the field,

Can compare to the pain,

Of losing a child,

A hundred men may die in battle,

But many times that number,

Feel their loss,
